Coillin Darach Robur is an Irish single malt from Croithlí (Crolly), bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in virgin oak. The release is built around the wood itself. Robur refers to Quercus robur, the oak most often used for European sherry casks. It is more porous than the Patraea or Alba species and much less sweet. The staves here come from Slavonia in Croatia, from Lužnjak casks. It is one of three initial core releases, each focused on a different oak species.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
