Croithlí – (Crolly) Coillin Darach Sessile (70cl, 46%)

This is a single malt Irish whiskey from Croithlí, also written Crolly. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in virgin oak casks. The release uses the choice of wood species to shape its flavour. Here the oak is Quercus Petraea, known as Irish Oak and more often used for brandy and wine production. The wood comes from Slovenia and is traditionally said to give a slightly sweeter character than French oak. It is bottled at 46%.
