Curraghmore The Mad Marquess Blended Irish Whiskey (40%)

Curraghmore The Mad Marquess is a blended Irish whiskey bottled at 40%. It is named after Henry De la Poer Beresford, the 3rd Marquess of Waterford, who is credited with coining the phrase "painting the town red" after a night out in 1837. The blend is triple-distilled, combining sweet grain whiskey with malted barley spirit, and it was matured in ex-bourbon barrels. The nose is light, with orchard fruit, green apple and vanilla, then honeyed cereal and toasted grain. The palate offers butterscotch, ripe pear and vanilla cream before light black pepper and nutmeg. The finish is medium in length, with sweet wood, faint citrus zest and soft malt.
