Cutty Sark Original Blended Scotch Whisky (70cl, 40%)

Cutty Sark Original is a blended Scotch whisky first created in 1923, in the days of American Prohibition. It combines malt whiskies, Glenrothes among them, with grain whiskies, and matured in American oak casks. The label is yellow, a reference to the tea clipper that gave the blend its name. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is fresh, with vanilla, citrus fruit, freshly cut grass and a hint of white pepper. The palate is clean and soft, with vanilla ice cream, caramel and lemon peel over light maltiness. The finish is short to medium, with a gentle spicy tingle and a soft, sweet close.
