Dad's Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey Finished in Vermouth Barrels is a rye at 47% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. The mash bill is 80% rye, 15% malted barley and 5% malted rye. It spends six months in charred new oak quarter casks, then three months in casks that previously held Vya Sweet Vermouth, which adds fruitiness to the spicy rye. The colour is a deep reddish-brown. The nose offers orange, cinnamon, pepper and vanilla. The palate opens with spice and turns dry mid-palate, ending with a delicate note of sweet vermouth.
