Daddy Rack Small Batch Tennessee Whiskey (40%)

Daddy Rack is a small batch Tennessee whiskey from J. Arthur Rackham, who spent more than fifty years in the drinks industry before making his own. It is named after a nickname his daughter gave him. The mash is 80% corn, 10% rye and 10% malted barley, with the corn coming from local farmers within 80 kilometres of the distillery. After a 72-hour sour mash it is distilled twice, in a copper column still and then a pot doubler, and filtered through maple charcoal with a second light pass. It is bottled at 40% with no added colouring, caramel or flavourings. Vanilla pods, maple syrup and banana milkshake lead the nose. The palate brings candyfloss, toffee popcorn and bruised apple, and the finish is green mint, orange peel and nutmeg.
