Daftmill – 2009 Asian Summer Batch Release (70cl, 46%)

This is a limited edition single malt from Daftmill, the Lowland farm distillery in Fife run by the Cuthbert family. It is a 2009 vintage, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle as the Asian Summer Batch. The whisky was distilled from the estate's own Optic barley and matured in ex-bourbon barrels for over a decade. The distillery runs only when farm work allows. The nose is orchard apple, lemon zest and wildflowers. The palate brings vanilla sponge, poached pear, barley sugar and a grassy freshness. The finish is long, with soft spice, green fruit and a mineral note.
