This is a 12 year old single malt from Daftmill, a Lowland farm distillery run by the Cuthbert family. It comes from the Summer Batch Release of the 2011 vintage, distilled in the summer months of that year and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The barley was sown, grown and harvested on fields next to the distillery. The whisky matured in dunnage warehouses in 27 first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels.
The nose is bright and fruity, with creamy vanilla, peach, apricot and mango. On the palate it is soft and balanced, with caramel, honey, citrus peel and warm spice. The finish is clean and refreshing, with vanilla and green apple.
