Daftmill 2011 Summer Release 2023 is a Lowland single malt from a farm distillery, made from Publican barley grown by John and Sandy Cuthbert on their own farm. The barley was malted at Crisp Malt in Alloa in summer 2011 and distilled as the distillery's summer batch.
It filled 27 first fill bourbon barrels and rested in them until September 2023, giving a 12-year-old whisky at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The edition numbers 6,550 bottles worldwide.
The nose is fresh, with pastry, light sweetness and a note of ginger. The palate is very spicy and fruity, with brown sugar and a little banana. The finish is long and refreshing.
