Daftmill – 2011 Winter Release 2024 (70cl, 46%)

Daftmill 2011 Winter Release is a 12 year old Lowland single malt from the Cuthbert family's farm distillery, bottled in 2024 at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The barley was Publican, harvested on the farm on 28 and 29 August 2009 by John and Sandy Cuthbert, then malted in Alloa in the summer of 2010. After distillation, 27 first-fill bourbon casks were filled in December 2011. They matured on the upper floor of the Daftmill warehouse until bottling, and the release came to 7,500 bottles. The nose is fresh, with pastry, a light sweetness and a note of ginger. The palate is very spicy and fruity, with brown sugar and a little banana, and the finish is long and refreshing.
