This is an Islay single malt aged for 13 years, with a finishing period in Oloroso sherry octave casks. The smaller casks bring deeper contact between spirit and wood. It is bottled at 51.6%, non-chill filtered and of natural colour, in a 50cl bottle.
The nose combines maritime smoke, brine and sherry sweetness, with smoked dates, sea salt, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, orange peel and oak resin. On the palate, peat and campfire ash sit over salted caramel, espresso and dried fruit, followed by burnt sugar, black pepper and a touch of sherried nuttiness. The finish is long and warming, with charred oak, dark cocoa and seaweed salinity.
