David Nicholson Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

David Nicholson Reserve is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 50% (100 proof) in a 75cl bottle. The name goes back to 1843 in St. Louis, where grocer David Nicholson first made his bourbon recipe. It is now produced at Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, from a high-rye mash bill, and matured in new charred American oak barrels. The nose combines vanilla bean, toasted oak and caramel with subtle spice and a hint of dried fruit. On the palate there are toffee, honey and cinnamon, with peppery rye spice and dark chocolate, and a creamy texture. The finish is long and warm, with caramel, charred oak and baking spice.
