Daviess County Kentucky Straight Bourbon is finished in Cabernet Sauvignon casks and bottled at 48% ABV (96 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
It combines two bourbon mash bills, one wheated and one with rye, and is finished for six months in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. The brand's history reaches back to 1927, when it survived Prohibition by selling its whiskey as bonded medical whiskey.
The nose is honey, vanilla and caramel. The palate is smooth from the barrel finish, with hints of fruit and oak, and the finish is long and warm with a touch of spice.
