Daviess County Medium Toasted is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, bottled at 48% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Ryed and wheated bourbon recipes are blended, then aged for over four years in charred new American oak. A finishing period follows in medium toasted American oak barrels that have been toasted but not charred.
The nose combines roasted nuts, warm vanilla, toasted caramel and clove. The palate starts with vanilla, leather and ginger, then moves to cinnamon, nutmeg, oak, coconut and dark chocolate. The finish is medium to long, with walnuts, caramel, mint, citrus and lingering oak spice.
