Debonair is a blended American bourbon made by 28 Mile Distillery in Illinois, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. It combines a four-year-old Kentucky straight rye bourbon with a two-year-old Tennessee straight bourbon, and the mashbill contains 21% rye.
After blending, the whiskey is finished in Spanish sherry casks and French Cognac casks.
The nose is caramel and toasted oak, with vanilla wafers, cinnamon pastry, bananas flambé, candied cherries and buttered cornbread. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, with honey, baking spices, dark fruit and a peppery thread. The finish is long, with oak, black pepper and a little liquorice, ending on gentle sweetness.
