Deerstalker Peated Edition Blended Malt (43%)

Deerstalker Peated Edition is a blended malt bottled at 43%, launched in 2016. Master blender John McDougall chose a range of peated single malts from distilleries in the Highlands and Islay, of different ages and levels of peat. The malts are blended and then matured in Ardmore casks, giving a soft, approachable dram rather than a heavily smoked one. The nose is smoky with heather and honey. The palate is soft and rounded, with medium smoke and hints of syrup and burnt wood. The smoke lingers in a long finish with a pleasant sweetness.
