Delord Brut de Fût 1995 Bas-Armagnac (47.5%)

This is a 1995 vintage Bas-Armagnac from Maison Delord, bottled at its natural cask strength of 47.5% vol. without reduction. It comes from cask number 2433. Delord was founded in 1893 and works with traditional distillation, long ageing in Gers black oak and bottling by hand. The nose is broad and gently vanilla, with beeswax, dried fruit such as grape, apricot and fig, and a note of candied orange. On the palate bitter orange is balanced by honey, with smooth wood tannins, cedar and soft spices including ginger.
