Delord Epopee 130 Year Anniversary Armagnac (75cl, 43%)

This is a Bas-Armagnac from the Delord family of Lannepax, blended from four vintages: 1900, 1938, 1973–1974 and 2004. Each was distilled by a different generation of the family, which together span 130 years at the estate. The blend draws on Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Folle-Blanche and Baco, and was distilled on continuous column stills dating from 1900. It is bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. The nose shows pronounced rancio, dried fruit and baking spices, with dried flowers, vanilla and cocoa beneath. The palate is rich with dried fruit and spice, moving to vanilla, cocoa and soft caramel. The finish is long and silky, with rancio, wood spice and lingering dried fruit.
