This is a Bas Armagnac of Napoléon grade, aged for a minimum of six years, from the Delord distillery in Gascony, which was founded in 1925 by Prosper Delord and Marie Duffau. It is made only from organically grown estate fruit: 70% Ugni Blanc, 20% Baco, 5% Colombard and 5% Folle Blanche. A single continuous distillation at low temperatures, between 54 and 58 degrees Celsius, is used to keep more of the aromatic compounds. The nose has roasted chestnut, baked pear, orange rind and caramel. The palate is creamy and semisweet, with milk chocolate, prunes, apricots and raisins. The finish is medium-long, with vanilla, cocoa and plum.
