Diamond S 5 Year Old is a single malt made by Rig Hand Distillery in Alberta from Alberta barley. It draws on the Stewart family's Scottish heritage.
The whisky is aged for five years and moved through several types of previously used barrels along the way, giving a rounded, fruit-forward character.
The nose offers malt and soft vanilla, then orchard fruit, caramel and a little oak. On the palate it is smooth, with sweet malt, ripe fruit, vanilla and warming spice. The finish is mellow and lingering, with malt sweetness, fruit, spice and seasoned oak.
