This is a single cask Scotch single malt from Douglas Laing's Old Particular range, bottled in the Family Favourite Distillery Managing Director's Selection. Casks in this selection are picked by the managing director as among the best expressions of a distillery. It is bottled at a cask strength of 61.4% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour. The nose has ripe stone fruit, honey, vanilla and malt, with caramel, spice, oak and a hint of citrus. The palate is full, with toffee, vanilla, ripe fruit and biscuit, then spice, chocolate, dried fruit and oak. The finish is very long and warming, with vanilla, oak, spice, malt and a natural sweetness.
