This is a single cask Islay single malt from Douglas Laing's Old Particular range, selected for Malaysia. It was distilled in 2005, aged for 17 years in a refill hogshead and bottled at 51.9% in a 70cl bottle. The outturn is 246 bottles, and it has no added colouring and no chill-filtration.
The nose is briny and coastal, with damp earth, treacle and juicy barley. Mellow, rounded peat leads the palate, alongside sea spray, damp moss and dark sugar. The finish is long and soft, with malt sweetness balanced by gentle smoke.
