Douglas Laing's Big Peat The Thropaigeach Edition (70cl, 48%)

Big Peat The Thropaigeach Edition is a blended malt from Douglas Laing, made to mark Fèis Ìle 2024. Its Islay malt recipe has been finished in specially selected rum casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 48% abv. Big Peat is a marriage of single malts from Islay only, and belongs to the Remarkable Regional Malts range. Caol Ila, Bowmore, Ardbeg and Port Ellen all feature in the blend. The nose has peated barley, smoke, warming spice and toasted marshmallows. The palate is oily and thick, with flambéed banana, barbecued meat and honeyed malt. The finish brings coal dust, charred pineapple and allspice.
