This is an 8 year old single malt from the Orkney islands, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Provenance range at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in carefully chosen casks, often ones that held bourbon or sherry. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The character is maritime and peated, balancing smoke, malt and iodine.
The nose is peaty and briny with soft smoke, malt and honey. The palate is round, with peat, caramel, dried fruit and a hint of salinity. The finish is long, on malt, soft spices and iodine.
