The Epicurean is a 12 year old Lowland blended malt from Douglas Laing, released as a small batch at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It brings together Lowland malts from the east and the west of Scotland.
Honeyed barley, ripe peaches and spice sit at the centre of it. The nose is rich in barley, with citrus, floral and herbal notes.
The palate is sweet and mouth-coating, with crunched sugar, burnt citrus, mixed spices, thyme, peaches and hard candy. The finish stays herbal and gristy, with almonds, cut grass and burnt sugar.
