Eagle Rare 17 Year Old is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. This is the 2018 release, bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, which is released each autumn.
The bourbon spent 17 years in new charred American oak.
The nose is fragrant and almost wine-like, with almond, cigar boxes, cinnamon, vanilla and dried fruit. The palate is delicate and dry, with leather, vanilla and tobacco, and the finish is long and leathery with lingering toffee.
