Elements of Islay Bourbon Cask is a blended malt Scotch whisky, made by blending single malts from Islay. They were aged only in first and second-fill bourbon casks, and the whisky is bottled at 54.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is one of a range of three 70cl expressions that also includes Cask Edit and Sherry Cask. The character is both fruity and smoky, with a fresh, exotic note from a distillery on Islay's north coast. The colour is bright gold.
The nose is intense and smoky, with citrus, vanilla and iodine. The palate is dense, with dried meat, campfires and baked apples, and the finish is long, with dark chocolate truffle and gentle spices.
