Elements of Islay Bw8 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (50cl, 51.2%)

Bw8 is the eighth limited edition from Elements of Islay, the series from Elixir Distillers. The Bw symbol points to Bowmore on Islay. This small batch is bottled at 51.2% in a 50cl bottle. It is made with whiskies from 2001 and 2003, matured for at least 16 years in ex-bourbon barrels and sherry butts. The colour is gold with copper reflections. The nose is fruity and smoky, with citrus zest, grapefruit, smoky charcoal and tropical fruit such as under-ripe mango. The palate is rich and creamy, with salted chocolate, lime and dry smoke. The finish is long and smooth, with chocolate and smoke lingering.
