Elijah Craig 12 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon in the Heaven Hill style, bottled at 47% abv. This is an older bottling, from before 2015.
It is a mature, oak-rich bourbon, deep amber with copper and mahogany tones, with deep sweetness and spice.
The nose is black bread, leather, tobacco and vanilla, with brown sugar and dried cherry. On the palate come cherry, plum and baked apple alongside caramel, toffee and charred oak. The finish is long and warming, with char, leather and lingering vanilla.
