A small batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof) in a 175cl bottle. The mash bill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, and the whiskey is aged in new charred oak.
Ageing on the upper floors of the rick house brings more heat cycling, which pushes the spirit further into the wood. Each batch is hand-selected.
The nose is caramel and vanilla with toasted oak and baking spice. The palate is full-bodied, with caramel, vanilla and warm spice, and the finish is warm and moderately long, with oak spice and caramel.
