Heaven Hill 9 Year Old Double Mash is a Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled in bond at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 750ml bottle. It was released under Master Distiller Conor O'Driscoll.
Two-thirds of the blend is a traditional bourbon of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley. The other third is a wheated bourbon of 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley. Each part was aged for nine years before they were combined.
The nose brings toasted oak, sweet honey and a little white pepper. The palate shows honey and citrus oil with maple, honey butter, flamed orange peel and dark chocolate. The finish is long, warm with caramel and baking spices.
