Mellow Corn is a Kentucky straight corn whiskey, distilled at Heaven Hill and bottled at 50% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Its gentle character is likely down to the high corn mash bill and ageing in used Heaven Hill barrels.
The nose is youthful and corn-led, with vanilla, sweet plantain and light oak. On the palate come corn, rich vanilla, dried banana chips, toasted oak and mixed nuts, all easy to pick out in a light mouthfeel. The finish is simple, with vanilla and corn followed by a slight hint of fruit juice.
