Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel is a bourbon made from the brand's Small Batch Bourbon, matured in full before it goes any further. It is then finished in a second barrel, a custom toasted new oak cask.
Barrelling the bourbon twice is meant to add complexity. The time in the toasted cask is where it picks up additional sweet oak flavour.
