A Lowland single malt distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2021 by Elixir Distillers, as Parcel No.7 in its Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Casks series. It was bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill-filtration. The whisky spent 13 years in two ex-bourbon barrels and one ex-sherry butt, and the batch came from just three casks. The nose opens with grapefruit pith, then juicy raisins and grape bubble gum, with a flinty note of river rock pools. On the palate, fresh grapefruit juice leads to buttery shortcrust pastry and rich burnt caramel, like a treacle cake left a little too long in the oven. The finish stays tangy, like concentrated lemon juice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
