Etsu Sakura is a Japanese gin inspired by Hanami, the cherry blossom season. It is distilled at Akita Distillery on Honshū, with water from the Ōu Mountains, and built on Japanese botanicals in which sakura meets citrus.
The nose is floral and elegant, with sakura and yuzu and a light herbal note. On the palate, sakura opens into citrus and bitter orange peel, with liquorice and coriander seed adding subtle complexity. The finish is airy, floral and lightly zesty. It suits cocktails or a simple serve with tonic.
