Evade Peated Single Malt (43%)

This is a peated single malt from France, created by Les Whiskies du Monde to mark the company's 20th anniversary. The name Évadé is the French word for flight. The spirit is made from French barley and double distilled in Charentais pot stills. It is matured in first- and second-fill bourbon casks and new American oak barrels, for between four and seven years. The peat comes from Hamburg and the whisky is peated to around 35ppm. It is bottled at 43% ABV. It is described as having floral peat smoke, caramel custard, vanilla, heather honey, pressed flowers, forest botanicals, toffee, chopped herbs and lightly charred oak.
