F.E.W. Cold Cut is a four year old bourbon from Illinois, matured in charred new American oak and bottled at 46.5% in a 70cl bottle.
Its distinguishing step comes after maturation: instead of being reduced with water, the bourbon is brought down to strength with cold brew coffee. The sweetness and character of the bourbon remain, with the coffee adding a further layer.
The nose offers vanilla, toffee, orange peel, apple and coffee bean. On the palate come caramel, cinnamon, clove, espresso and honey-nut cornflakes. The long finish brings bourbon and coffee notes together.
