New charred oak barrel
A 3 year old Illinois straight bourbon from FEW Spirits, drawn from a single new charred oak barrel, B4.1, and bottled at 62.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is one of 114 bottles and the first FEW release for the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. FEW is a grain-to-glass distillery in Evanston, Illinois, which has been making whiskey since 2011. The nose is sweet and fruity, with dried mango, corn candies, bubble gum, vanilla pastries and banana in several forms, over black pepper and liquorice. Neat, the palate is fierce and explosive, with quinine, tree bark and resins set against coconut, cola cubes and Dandelion and Burdock. With water it turns rounder, with coconut macaroons, Walnut Whips, leather and willow twigs.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
