Fassbind Les Vieilles Barriques Vieille Framboise (70cl)

This is a Swiss aged raspberry brandy from Fassbind, made from raspberries harvested in the Rigi mountain region. The fruit is macerated and distilled, then rested in stainless steel for at least two years. The spirit then spends 14 to 18 months in oak barrels, which gives it a brilliant gold colour and more structure than a young fruit brandy. On the nose it recalls homemade raspberry syrup, with fully ripe raspberries, chestnut puree, chocolate and vanilla. The palate is fruity, sweet and opulent, and the finish is long.
