Fercullen Italian Gardens Estate Series 2 Amarone Finish (70cl, 46%)

This is the second release in Fercullen's Estate Series, inspired by the Italian garden at the Powerscourt Estate. It is an Irish blend of a 19 year old single malt and a 12 year old single grain whiskey, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The single malt was finished in Amarone casks, which add fruity depth to the blend. The whiskey carries added colouring. John Cashman, Head of Whiskey, was responsible for the bottling. On the nose there are cherry, figs and a sweet lemonade note. The palate combines sweet grain with honey, citrus and spice from the malt, leading to a long, sweet finish with summery fruit.
