A sherry finished Highland single malt from Fettercairn, bottled at 42% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Fior is Gaelic for 'true'. It was released in the summer of 2010 as part of the distillery's rebranding.
It is known for an old style sherry character, with a leafy, charred-wood smokiness that adds interest without taking over.
The nose offers malt, dark honey and black tea. Apples come through on the palate with a little dark chocolate and a faint hint of peat smoke. The finish has a slight slickness, and it is here that the peat is most noticeable.
