Finlaggan Eilean Mor (70cl, 46%)

Finlaggan Eilean Mor is a blended malt from Islay, bottled at 46% by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in bourbon casks and has a strong peat-smoke character. Sweet malt, medicinal notes and maritime touches sit alongside the smoke, with black pepper adding spice and a lightly oily texture. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured. The name comes from Loch Finlaggan on Islay, and Eilean Mor refers to the large island in the loch. On the nose, sweet peat smoke meets medicinal notes and a hint of sea salt. The palate is full and mouth-filling, with spicy peat, tar, iodine and sweet malt. The finish is long, with the impression of smouldering embers, and slightly drying.
