Finlaggan Original (70cl, 40%)

Finlaggan Original is a peated Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40% by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. The barley is dried over peat smoke and the whisky matures on the Scottish coast. It is chill-filtered and has colouring added. The name refers to Finlaggan Castle on Loch Finlaggan, the historic seat of the Lords of the Isles. The ruin is pictured on the label. The nose is dominated by peat smoke, with maritime notes and a light vanilla sweetness. On the palate the malt is full, with strong peat smoke and a spicy touch of ginger. The finish is compact and dry, with toasted oak and a little peppermint.
