Finlaggan Red Wine Cask is a peated single malt from Islay, matured in red wine casks from Spain's Rioja region. It is bottled at 46% by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company, who are also behind The Ileach and Cooper's Choice bottlings.
The nose balances fruit and smoke, with redcurrants, raspberries, citrus and campfire. On the palate, fruit and smoke combine with earthy peat, a salty note, caramel and black pepper. The finish is fairly long, with peat smoke and dried fruit to the fore.
