Flóki Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish is an Icelandic single malt from Eimverk, in a 70cl bottle at 47%. It is made only from Icelandic barley and is not smoky.
The whisky spent three years in American oak casks that previously held Flóki Young Malt, stored at the foot of the Hekla volcano, then was finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. First released in 2019, this 2023 bottling comes from a single cask. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is ripe cherries, dark berries and dried fruit, with resin and pine needles. The palate is full-bodied, with cherries, candied figs, roasted nuts, thyme and chamomile. The medium finish holds red fruit and roasted oak.
