Florio Marsala Vergine Riserva 2008 is a fortified wine made from the Grillo grape.
It matured for 13 years in oak casks in the Garibaldi cellar, 108 metres from the sea. Fortification is carried out without added sugar. Florio casks are usually moved between cellars, but this one stayed in a single position for the whole 13 years. That static ageing near the sea led to an angels' share of 19%.
The aromas are fresh and lively, showing the character of the Grillo grape.
