Terre Arse is a Marsala Vergine from the house of Florio, a fortified wine named after the Sicilian town of Marsala. Vergine Marsala is made without added cooked must or sifone, and the grapes are fully fermented before a long spell of ageing in wood.
It is bright amber in the glass. The nose brings dried figs and dates, tobacco and spice, with a light touch of vanilla from the wood. The palate is rich and complex, with acidity balancing the sweeter notes, and it closes persistently aromatic and pleasantly dry. It comes in a 50cl bottle.
