Four Roses – Kentucky Straight Bourbon (1L, 40%)

Four Roses Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a light bourbon bottled at 40% ABV, here in a 1 litre bottle. It is chill-filtered and has no added colour. It is made from five yeast strains and two grain mixes, which give ten distinct recipes. Each one is matured separately, in unheated warehouses at Cox's Creek, about 80 kilometres from the distillery at Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The whiskey spends between five and ten years in cask before the best are combined. The character is understated and less sweet at first, then fine notes of vanilla and malt appear. It took a gold medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2010.
