This is a Barbados rum from Foursquare, distilled in 2005 and aged for 17 years in a single barrel. It is bottled at a full 61% in a 70cl bottle, and sits in the Navy and Overproof style.
The nose opens juicy, with ripe peach and mango, then moves to prunes, sultanas and dusty dark chocolate. On the palate it is bold and dessert-like, with treacle tart, maple syrup and a faint hint of smoke, while a touch of lime peel lifts the stickiness. The finish is long and rich, with aromatic oak spices.
