G.E. Massenez Pomme Prisonnière Calvados (75cl, 40%)

Pomme Prisonnière is a Calvados from G.E. Massenez, sold in a 75cl bottle that holds a whole apple. The apple grows inside the glass: bottles are attached to tree branches while the fruit is in blossom, and bottle and ripe fruit are detached together, cleaned and filled. The spirit is distilled from Normandy cider apples, double distilled and aged in oak casks. The apple and the Calvados then spend a long maceration together, the fruit releasing its aromatics into the brandy. It belongs to the house's Signature range. Massenez was founded in Alsace in 1870.
